Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP) offers group visitors a day out to remember with the most extensive UK exhibition to date by leading British sculptor Tony Cragg.
The exhibition, presented in the Underground Gallery, Garden Gallery and open air, runs from 4 March to 3 September 2017. New sculptures, works on paper and pieces drawn from nearly five decades of Cragg’s practice will survey and demonstrate the artist’s pioneering and continued mastery of materials. A ‘radical materialist’, Cragg defines sculpture as a ‘rare category of objects’, and takes a taxonomic approach to his own practice, something which is reflected in the exhibition.
A limited edition and exclusive exhibition merchandise will be available to purchase along with a full colour publication sharing unique insights into Cragg’s career from both an art historical and material science perspective. All pre-booked groups will receive a free introduction to the exhibition or groups can make a day of it with exclusive Tony Cragg tours and group packages tailored to your needs, for as little as £50.
Groups can also discover the rich heritage of the YSP landscape with an Historic Lakes & Woodland Tour; find out about other key works on display in the Art & Landscape Tour; or uncover the wildlife, flora and fauna of the Park in a YSP WILD Tour.
For the complete YSP experience, a visit to the award-winning gallery shop is a must, as is enjoying the restaurant with its stunning views of the Park and locally sourced, freshly cooked food. For group visitors there is a wide choice of menu packages such as morning coffee, cream teas and buffet lunches.
Admission to the Park and galleries is free and by pre-booking a group visit you will benefit from free coach parking, when booked with a catering or tour package; maps and current information on arrival and a free refreshment voucher for the coach driver.
