Classical superstar Katherine Jenkins Safari Nights performance postponed until 2021

SUPERSTAR Katherine Jenkins headline appearance at the award-winning Yorkshire Wildlife Park’s series of Wild Live Safari Night concerts this summer has been postponed till 2021 due to the pandemic.

The Mezzo Soprano singer song writer, who is officially the world’s most successful Classical Singer ever with 13 number one albums in just over a decade, will now perform on Saturday  August 28, 2021. Katherine Jenkins OBE said: “I am disappointed I can’t perform this year but am very much looking forward to performing at Yorkshire Wildlife Park’s Safari Night finale in 2021.

“I have heard a lot about YWP and am a big supporter of all its conservation and welfare work, trying to protect some of the world’s most beautiful and endangered species from extinction.

“I can’t wait to come visit you all and bring an evening of music when hopefully life will have become a lot more normal.”

Katherine, whose new album Cinema Paradiso was released last week, was the first act to be announced for the eagerly anticipated Safari Nights in 2020. But the pandemic, which temporarily shut the park before it reopened last month, meant Safari Nights were postponed this year. The full line up for 2021 will be announced in due course.

The 2021 events run on Saturdays from Saturday 7th August – 28th and tickets include entry to the Wildlife Park which stays open with extended hours into the evening.

The fun-packed summer events at the park, near Doncaster, also feature other attractions during the day and evening including local bands, live acoustic acts and other family entertainment.

“We are delighted that in these difficult times Katherine immediately agreed to perform next year instead of this summer. We’ve been eager to get Katherine to the park for some time now and not even the pandemic will stop that happening when it is safe to do so,” said CEO John Minion.

“We’re certain that Katherine is going to create a buzz and our visitors will be ecstatic to hear that she will be performing on stage here at the park. We look forward to welcoming her in 2021.”
