Coach Tourism Association Conference Members To Confront ULEZ and BREXIT Issues At Conference In February

24-26 February 2019 – The Hallmark Hotel, Cambridge.

With the start of London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone only weeks away, members of the Coach Tourism Association will be given top level briefings about its effects on the industry at their conference starting on 24th February 2019.

With similar deadlines for BREXIT in mind the conference will also be given a summary of likely scenarios by the CEO of the European Tour Operators’ Association, Tom Jenkins. He will also highlight some of the challenges facing the industry from ‘overtourism’ perceptions.

The issue of compliance with the London ULEZ zone, starting on 8th April 2019 – and forthcoming Low Emission Zones in other cities around the UK – will be the subject of a Question Time panel at the conference in Cambridge. This will feature three operators; David Parry, Jason Edwards and Robert Shaw who will share their views about adapting their businesses to clean air zones. Confederation of Passenger Transport’s Andy Warrender will also update members on the impact of the zones to the coach tourism industry.

Other conference speakers will include the SME Business Person of the Year Justine Perry of Cariad sharing top tips on digital marketing. Earlier in the day, hundreds of business meetings have been set up between CTA members and tourism suppliers at the annual workshop sessions.

With two dinners, lots of social networking, and the chance to meet the UK’s key tourism operators and suppliers, the CTA annual conference is a must for members who should book on the association’s website: www.coachtourismcouncil.co.uk. The conference will also be remembering the association’s previous CEO Chris Wales who passed away at the end of last year.
