With over 4000 different varieties of fruit tree set in 150 acres of orchard farmland, Brogdale is waiting to be discovered.

As home of the National Fruit Collection the Brogdale orchards are home to over  2,200 different varieties of apple including unusual red flashed apples or heritage varieties dating back hundreds of years as well as 550 Varieties of pears, 285 varieties of cherries, 337 varieties of plums plus quinces, medlars and nuts. All like you have never seen before and won’t find anywhere else.

The National Fruit Collections orchards at Brogdale are bursting with history, unique knowledge and living heritage. Discover fruit varieties dating back to Henry Vlll or rare varieties you simply won’t find in the shops, the varieties are rich in history with global associations and cultural significance and flavours like nowhere else. All set in the stunning orchards in the heart of “The garden of England”.

Take a tour of the orchards on foot or on the tractor trailer and be led by one of Brogdale’s expert knowledgeable guides who will not only answer all your questions on the fruit and orchards history but awaken your taste buds with fruit tasting in season. Go on a journey around the orchards exploring from beautiful blossom to bountiful fruit, you will never be short of something to see, taste and learn.
