The inaugural “Dubai – Under Starters Orders” education programme has been hailed as a success by students who took part in the specialist primary school education programme, which was sponsored for the first time by Godolphin.
Over two hundred Year 5 students from seven local schools, in and around Newmarket, benefited from the course which was created to develop students understanding and interest in the horseracing industry and the community within which they live.
Staff from Godolphin – who represented Dubai, Newmarket Racecourses and the National Heritage Centre for Horseracing and Sporting Art, worked together to deliver the programme which was designed to make learning fun. The programme encompassed and supported the National Curriculum for this year group and Key Stage 2.
Hugh Anderson, Managing Director of Godolphin in the UK and Dubai, said; “This is an exciting new partnership for Godolphin, Newmarket Racecourses and the National Heritage Centre for Horseracing and Sporting Art, which will boost education and potentially employment opportunities among young people in Newmarket. It represents His Highness Sheikh Mohammed’s on-going commitment to young people, education, Newmarket and those who live in the communities within which we work”.
