Lancaster University – the perfect place to explore the North West

Lancaster Conferences located at Lancaster University is the perfect place stay and explore the North West. Set in 250 acres of parkland Lancaster University is just 5 minutes from Junction 33 off the M6 and 10 minutes from the main west coast railway.

It is the ideal place to venture out for day trips into the Trough of Bowland or the Lake District. Lancaster Conferences has 64 3* en-suite bedrooms all year round, with an additional 700 bedrooms available during vacation periods. All bedrooms include breakfast, complimentary WI-FI, towels, toiletries and tea / coffee making facilities. In addition, we also offer all of our guests’ on-site parking.

Our delicious breakfast menu is served between 8am-9am and is created by our onsite catering team that has recently received two Gold Awards for ‘Food for Life’. These awards take into consideration and recognise the use of fresh, seasonal, local and organic ingredients. As a visitor at the University, our B&B guests are invited to have their evening dinner in ‘The Lounge’ which is one of three food outlets on campus to receive the award.

Rob Sexton, Chief Executive of Soil Association Certification, said: “The Gold Catering Mark is a fantastic achievement on this scale so it’s brilliant to see Lancaster University gaining recognition for serving great fresh meals made with seasonal, local and organic ingredients. Serving menus to Gold Catering Mark standards can significantly reduce carbon emissions and supports local businesses so this is a win-win for planet-friendly food and the local economy. Lancaster University is leading the way in the drive to improve food culture in the UK.”

Lancaster offers individuals and groups the opportunity to experience some history and culture. Whilst here, guests can visit the Butterfly House and the Ashton Memorial in Williamson Park, or go back through time with a tour of the Lancaster Castle. If you have enough time, why not enjoy one of the many shows taking place at the Dukes theatre? Or if you would rather be outdoors, Lancaster is the gateway to the Trough of Bowland and the Lake District which both offer stunning scenery and walking trails.
