Ripley’s Believe It or Not! London can tell what you want, what you really, really want.
Throughout April and May, the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! London attraction will be hosting a very special ‘Spiceworld’ exhibition which consists of limited edition merchandise collected from the height of the Spice Girl phenomenon. Specialist collector Liz West holds a Guinness World Record for the largest collection of Spice Girl memorabilia in the world. The impressive collection is made up of nearly 5,000 items and has been built up over the past 18 years and spans from iconic costumes to platform boots and limited edition merchandise.
The collection includes designer and hand-made outfits, jewellery and shoes all of which were worn by the Spice Girls in music videos, live concerts, on screen and at high profile public engagements. Alongside these rare items, the collection showcases award discs from all over the world, unique endorsement items, sponsorship merchandise, official products and worldwide releases on vinyl, CD, cassette, VHS, DVD and other formats. Guests can ‘spice up their lives’ all over again and stroll through the exhibition, whilst listening to the greatest hits!
Liz West, owner of the collection, has been collecting costumes for many years and although she managed to accumulate costumes from all of the other spice girls, Liz was disappointed to never get her hands on any of Victoria Beckham’s outfits from her “Spice” days. When Victoria heard the news she kindly loaned three of her own costumes from the Spice Girl’s reunion tour to Liz so all of the girls could be together again on display at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! London.
Natascha Crump, General Manager at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! London said: “We are thrilled to be unveiling the SpiceWorld exhibition. We currently host many quirky collections at the attraction and this will be a fantastic addition to the 700 exhibits we already have on display.
We are the home of the unbelievable and there is no doubt the Spice Girls had unbelievable chart success. With the 20thanniversary of the number one hit ‘wannabe’ in 2016, visiting the Spice Girls exhibition is a great way to start reliving fun memories with friends or family.”
Liz West, owner of the spice girl collection added “I’m so proud my record breaking collection has opened at Ripley’s London for families and guests to enjoy. Piccadilly Circus is such an iconic location and it is where the Spice Girls filmed SpiceWorld and many public engagements, so it feels like the perfect fit for the collection to be here!”
Come on, say you’ll be there!!!
The exhibition is open from Saturday 28th March – Sunday 31st May 2015 at Ripley’s London in Piccadilly Circus. For more information visit:-
