The Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) has announced a new Coach Pilot Scheme for Newcastle Christmas Market 2025, in partnership with Newcastle NE1 BID and Destination North East.
Running over 15–16 November and 6–7 December 2025, the pilot aims to position Newcastle as a top UK coach-friendly destination, not only at Christmas but all year round.
The scheme includes:
- Reserved central drop-off and pick-up just two minutes from the main shopping area
- Up to 12-hour secure parking with on-site staff
- Welcome packs with vouchers for drivers and exclusive discounts for passengers
The Christmas Market, delivered by Newcastle City Council and NE1, attracts over 1.7 million visitors each year and features local traders, live entertainment, and family-friendly attractions including Santa’s Workshop, the Rockin’ Reindeer Stage, and a traditional carousel.
Phil Smith, Coach Manager of the Confederation of Passenger Transport, said:
“We’re delighted to get this pilot scheme off the ground. Newcastle is a fantastic city, and we want to make it even more accessible for people to visit. We’ll be monitoring the success of this pilot and using it to feed into our future plans to help strengthen the city’s reputation as a must-visit location for coach-led tourism.”
