Trentham Event Sows Seeds for Group Bookings

Group Travel Roadshow at Award Winning UK Attraction.

A group travel event for the tourism industry proved to be a blooming success this week in Staffordshire. National tour and holiday company Daish’s Holidays, who operate twelve hotels in eleven UK seaside resorts, got together with Steve Reed Tourism Ltd of Hampshire to help cultivate group bookings. And one of the country’s leading destinations, Trentham Gardens in Stoke-on-Trent, provided the perfect backdrop to the Group Travel Roadshow.

Group travel organisers and coach and tour operators met face-to-face with a crop of tourism businesses, some from as far afield as Devon, Dorset, and Cumbria. These included:

Chester Zoo; The Lowry Salford Quays; Ena Mill Retail; Ullswater Steamers; The Royal Airforce Museum Cosford; Elizabeth Gaskell House in Manchester; Classic Lodges Hotels; Malvern Hills; the Yarn Market Hotel of Dunster; The Olympus Restaurant of Bolton; World of Wedgwood; East Lancs Railway; Coastal Cruises of Poole; Michels and Taylor Hotels and the West Midlands Safari Park.

The World of Wedgwood, located near Trentham Gardens, also welcomed showcase visits for some of the delegates. The Stoke-on-Trent Doubletree by Hilton Hotel [once the home of Josiah Wedgwood] hosted a number of the tour planners the night before the event. Some of the attendees and tour planners gave their verdicts on the Group Roadshow:

”This was a superb show arranged by Steve Reed Tourism and in a great location. It seemed to be well attended by a good mix of exhibitors and buyers, and certainly, there was plenty of business to be secured and put into motion. I found it to be a successful day” Shauna Potts of Simply Groups.

”It was such a great show and thanks for hosting us at Trentham Gardens. We’ll definitely look into attending the next Roadshow in Harrogate during November” Charlotte Howle, Chester Zoo.

”This was time well spent networking with new and existing contacts whilst experiencing some top attractions that we will consider for future tours. We found the whole day really productive”  Ian Marsh, Holiday Club Staycation.

The next Group Travel Roadshow takes place at the Old Swan Hotel in Harrogate on Monday 17th November, commencing at 10.30. Anyone interested in attending or exhibiting should email steve@stevereedtourism.co.uk
